The High Five #2 - WWE After School Special

In this week's edition of The High Five, I have decided to cover five recent matches in the WWE. Why you ask? Many people have just completed their Finals, and sometimes you can't watch everything you wanted to. So this After School Edition is meant to show you what you have missed in the last month in the WWE. Be warned, you'll want to check these matches out ASAP.

Hot damn at Zayn's counter
Sami Zayn vs Adrian Neville 5/20/14 - This is the Zayn/Neville dark match that surfaced online from the recent European tour. This was an awesome nine minute showcase for these two upcoming stars. The counter shown in the GIF may be one of my favorite counters this year. I personally enjoyed this just as much as the Generico/PAC match from PWG years ago.

Rating: ***3/4

HOSSY UPPERCUTS~

Cesaro vs Sheamus 5/13/14 - You know in current WWE, if you put any of the Europeans together you are in for a treat. This match in particular stood out to me not only because of the hossy exchanges between these two, but also because it got a ton of time being on Main Event. These two have absolutely killed it this year, and I hope their paths cross at least one more time before the end of the year.

Rating: ****

STEEL STEPU ISHII ISHII!!~

John Cena vs Bray Wyatt (Last Man Standing) 6/01/14 - This match was a ton of fun, and you know with fun not everyone will like it. Sure, this match had some crazy spots, especially once Harper/Rowan came out and The Uso's intercepted them. That Table Superplex was NASTY. The match did have a bit of a rough ending, but overall this was one of the funnest brawls/spotfest WWE has done in years.

Rating: ****

Dolph's crossbody is 10/10

Seth Rollins vs Dolph Ziggler 6/06/14 - This match was awesome. Ziggler has always been one of the most reliable guys on the roster in terms of bringing the best out of someone. Rollins really hasn't gotten the chance to shine in singles matches this year, but this match made the wait worth it. Ziggler/Rollins had some insane chemistry, and some of the counters and spots in this need to be seen, especially considering it was the opening match to Smackdown.

Rating: ***3/4

Future HOSSES

Dean Ambrose vs Bray Wyatt 6/13/14 - Holy shit this match. I had decent expectations going in, but man did it blow me away. Rather it be Wyatt's general fatboy offense or Ambrose's amazing selling of the shoulder, I know several people will love this match. The fact that this also had a story to it and you had a bit of gold. Any other year this is close to TV MOTY, but in an awesome in ring year for WWE it joins the ranks of about thirty others.

Rating: ****

That is it for this week's High Five. I really hope those reading don't thing my inclusions are too off the wall, but it has been a really good month for WWE, in ring wise. I hope their momentum continues throughout the summer and carries them through the rest of the year.

Detailing Hoenn's New Mega Trio

Courtesy to the official Pokemon website for all screenshots
With E3 coming to a close, I figured now is the best time to talk about Pokemon. It has been announced what boosts each of the Hoenn starters will receive after their Mega Evolution. As someone that has done a little competitive battling in their day, I figured I would detail how exactly this effects both in game play and competitive play.

Mega Sceptile
Sceptile is a Pokemon we here at TPC felt like should of been half Dragon type all along. Now that Mega Sceptile receives this as its sub type, what does that exactly mean for battles? Well, for starters it now means it is 4X weak to Ice type moves, which could be a bitch in a half in the later parts of the game. However, with its new ability Lightning Rod, Electric type moves not only do zero damage, but it actually helps Sceptile. The Pokemon will now get a Special Attack boost every time an Electric type move is used, as the ability literally makes Mega Sceptile a huge lightning rod. This will not only make Mega Sceptile a major player in competitive single player battles, but Double Battles will now be a pain if you have an Electric type Pokemon on your team, as Mega Sceptile will make it almost useless. Overall, I feel like this makes Mega Sceptile a bit overpowered, but it does have its flaws if you know how to expose them.

Mega Blaziken
Most of us already now how ruthless Mega Blaziken can be, due to its odd inclusion in Pokemon X/Y. This Pokemon not only receives an Attack boost, but due to its ability Speed Boost, it gets a speed boost every turn. Blaziken was already one of the best starting Pokemon in the game, add in boosted Attack and Speed and its game over. Several competitive battlers use Mega Blaziken and hot damn is it effective.

Mega Swampert

I decided way before the Mega Evolution announcements that I was going to roll with Mudkip through this game. Mudkip was my first starter in the original Pokemon Ruby, but that is a story for another day. Mega Swampert also receives an Attack boost, and has the ability Swift Swim. This ability causes the Pokemon's Speed to double as long as it is raining on the field of battle. This will make Swampert a huge hassle to handle now. I mean can you imagine a fast ass Swampert getting to strike first with STAB Waterfall or a STAB Earthquake. I can only fathom the damage this thing will cause.

That's it for me today. I just felt that I should highlight some of the damage these powerhouses will be able to deal out now, as if their previous forms were not already super powerful. Keep TPC open for all upcoming Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire news and remember...

Guilty Gear Xrd Sign E3 Trailer!

This is the game that will act as my introduction in to fighting games, Guilty Gear Xrd Sign. Of course I have played fighting games in the past, but I would love to actually be good at them, and this game just looks too good to pass up. The trailer's art style is just out of the world amazing and I think the song fits it perfectly.

That art style is simply stunning.

Guilty Gear is due out this holiday season on both PS3 and PS4. One of the really cool things about this game is that it will allow PS3/PS4 cross play. I am sure I will write about my future ventures with fighting games once the time as come. Make sure you come and listen to our E3 Recap/Awards over at ThePaperCloud Twitch channel tonight at 8:00 PM CST!

Mega Sableye Revealed!

Today at E3, Nintendo revealed Mega Sableye. Sableye was a Pokemon a ton of players have always wanted to have an evolution, and I think this more than satisfies those wants. It appears to have a huge gem which doubles as a shield, as well as Sableye's eyes being huge rubies. I would be willing to bet that its defense will be high tier shit. I personally think it is awesome how Nintendo is still letting new information leak out about all their games this week. Be sure to keep TPC open all week for continued E3 coverage as well as the latest Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire news!

Diablo III Will Include Other Sony Licensed Items

It was announced on that Diablo III Ultimate Evil Edition on Playstation 4 will include other Sony licensed items. As well as the Nephalem Rift area inspired by the award winning The Last of Us, the official Playstation Blog confirmed a Shadow of Colossus armor set seen below. I think this is an awesome addition to the game and definitely an incentive for gamers to dive back in to Diablo III. Be sure to follow along here for all your E3 coverage for the remaining two days!

Oh man that's good looking

Straw Poll: Smash Bros Wii U vs 3DS!

Which will sell more copies? Super Smash Bros WiiU or Super Smash Bros 3DS? Vote on our straw poll below!

Pac-Man Joins The Battle!

Last night, during the first Nintendo Developer Discussion Roundtable, it was officially announced that Pac-Man would be joining the Super Smash Bros for 3DS/WiiU roster! Personally I am very excited about this, as you now have four of the most influential video game characters of all time in this game with Mega Man, Mario, Sonic and now Pac-Man.

Four of the most iconic characters ever
Tell me how awesome that looks? I am personally glad that Pac-Man doesn't look like his current version Namco is running with. I mean blue eyes for Pac-Man, SERIOUSLY? I like the 3D version of Pac-Man Nintendo has decided to go with in the long run.

WAKA  WAKA
I also wanted to point out with Nintendo using this original Pac-Man model both in this screenshot and in the trailer above, it practically confirm his Final Smash. How awesome will it be for Link and Mario to transform into Blue Ghosts and Pac-Man eats them in 2014? Incredibly awesome.

So happy!
Overall, I think all of us here at TPC are happy with the inclusion of Pac-Man. I can not wait to spend more money on an Amiibo for him and carry it around to destroy other people in Smash. Holiday 2014 needs to become an official date, but I guess I can wait until October 3rd. Follow us here all week for our E3 coverage and here the latest on Pac-Man in Super Smash Bros!
