WWE Payback Preview & Predictions

Oh man get hyped

Tonight, WWE is having their pay per view Payback, which for some reason has as many stipulation matches as last month's Extreme Rules. This PPV clearly has its highs and lows on paper, but I think it looks like a pretty good card. I will be running down the card and making predictions, and keep up with it throughout the year, so let's get to it!

Hornswoggle vs El Torito - Mask vs Hair
Ok, so last month's WeeLC match between these two was way better than it had any right to be. The what seems like year long feud between 3MB and Los Matadores has rarely gotten on TV, so it is kind of cool that WWE is giving this feud a few minutes of TV time. I have higher expectations for this match then I should, but I actually have faith in these two for an entertaining match.

Prediction: El Torito, Hornswoggle is shaved.

Paige (c) vs Alicia Fox - Diva's Championship
Alicia Fox is easily one of the most entertaining performers WWE currently has under contract. However, I don't see Fox getting the championship here, because Paige has beaten her time and time again and Fox only has the one win over Paige. Fox is still going to be stiff as hell, so I expect this match to be good.

Prediction: Paige

 Rusev vs Big E
This match can be one of two things, either a good hard hitting heavyweight brawl or complete and utter shit. It seems WWE is insisting on making Rusev a racist or something, although he did beat Zack Ryder a few weeks ago. This match I feel is going to hurt Big E's momentum, but honestly he hasn't been a hot commodity since midway through his Intercontinental title reign.

Prediction: Rusev

Sheamus (c) vs Cesaro - United States Championship
This feud has given us two awesome matches so far, and I expect no different here. Cesaro is currently my #1 wrestler in the world, he has just a truly remarkable year people will be talking about for years, and we aren't even half way through the year. Sheamus, on the other hand, has had an awesome year since he has returned as well, so easily two top ten guys here. I feel like we will get swerved or something here (Heyman turning on Cesaro, causing Cesaro to lose I don't know).

Prediction: Sheamus

John Cena vs Bray Wyatt - Last Man Standing
I have enjoyed this feud way more than a lot of people, yes, even last month's Steel Cage match. Wyatt has been having a fantastic year, including his promos and his matches. Cena has been a bit stale, and this is coming from a Cena supporter. We all know with the Last Man Standing, both Harper and Rowan will be getting plenty of shit in during this match, although The Uso's will probably make an appearance as well. Unless WWE wants to bring Wyatt's push to a halt, he has to win here.

Prediction: Bray Wyatt

Bad News Barrett (c) vs Rob Van Dam - Intercontinental Championship
Bad News Barrett is way over, and if you would of told me that Wade Barrett would be over three years ago, I would have laughed in your face. RVD competing for the championship is fine in my opinion, but I really wish we would get some cool contenders, and with Money in the Bank around the corner, I feel like we will be waiting for a while longer.

Prediction: Bad News Barrett

The Shield vs Evolution - Elimination, No Holds Barred Six Man Tag
This is going to be awesome. Their match last month was awesome, but the ECW esque last ten minutes was amazing. Now they are going to make that a 20-25 minute match in front of a hot crowd? I am sold. Now, we all know WWE is pushing Roman Reigns to be the standout of the group, so I expect Reigns to pull a bunch of weight in this match, but do not count out Rollins being flippy and shit, Orton doing his best work in a year, Batista being there, Ambrose going Terry Funk and Triple H still being pretty good.

Order of Elimination
Rollins eliminated by Batista
Batista eliminated by Reigns
Ambrose eliminated by Orton
Orton eliminated by Reigns
Reigns eliminated by HHH

Prediction: Evolution

Payback has potential to either be a one match show or the potential to be a great card akin to last year's Payback. I imagine this will be a show building up to Money in the Bank, especially with the Bryan/McMahon segment that could be the foundation of the whole show. One thing is for sure, it is set to be one of the most interesting shows of the year.
