Video Game Reviews: Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs is a game that has captured the interest of many, but has failed to capitalize on the presence it has had in the past two years. The game has been hit with unfortunate events such as a six month delay and a downgrade as far as graphics though. However, I am here to say that Watch Dogs is still a fun experience and here is why.

Hacking and driving isn't safe kids.
First off, the campaign of the game is extremely satisfying. Without spoiling anything, Aiden is a vigilante looking for justice for an event that took place eleven months prior to the actual campaign. It is a perfect mix of old elements people recognize from Ubisoft's bread and butter in Assassin's Creed  and the new elements this game brings to the table. The campaign is a long one, so players will have to be prepared to dedicate some time to it.

BOBBY WATCH OUT!
Multiplayer in this game is how you get really sucked in. I enjoy the smooth transition of once you complete a hack or you are hacked, you are still in that part of Chicago in your game. So essentially this new system completely gets rid of online lobbies and you never have to leave your single player game. The whole hacking another player's game is a truly a heart pounding experience as you have to try your hardest to blend in with the NPCs of said player's game. Honestly, this is one of the most unique multiplayer experiences I have had in a while.

CHICAGO!
Now, my biggest qualm with this game is the music selection. The track list for this game is a missed opportunity. It is atrocious. I mean, not even a few good songs, like the whole list is bad. I don't want "Day N' Nite" to come on every other time I get in my car, but I hate hearing just the engine of a car in the game. I wasn't expecting an out of this world song list for this game, but damn give me at least a decent effort.

Looking at the song list like.
Overall, I have really enjoyed this game. The graphics are still good enough for me, I don't care how a game looks as long as it is playable and good. Now, by no means is this game going to get Game of the Year here, but it is a fun experience I would recommend based solely on the unique multiplayer elements and the engaging campaign.

Final Score:
8 hacks out of 10
